Alfie Devine has signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alfie Devine has signed a new contract with the club. The new deal will see the 18-year-old stay at the club till 2027, according to the club’s website.
The attacking midfielder joined the Spurs academy in the summer of 2020. After impressing at the Under-18 and development squad levels, the 18-year-old made his first-team debut in a FA Cup tie against Marine in January 2021.
Devine had the perfect debut in which he scored a goal and became the club’s youngest ever player and goal-scorer at the senior level.
It is no surprise that the England Under-19 star was offered a new contract. The midfielder was in fine form last season when he scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for the youth side in all competitions.
The Englishman was more than happy to speak up after penning a new deal. He praised the facilities at Tottenham and thanked the fans for being supportive, no matter the age group.
The fans here at Spurs are incredible. No matter what age group, they’re always supportive. It’s a very proud moment for me and my family. I think it was sort of a no-brainer to sign it.
Devine was also part of the England Under-19 squad for the European Championship earlier in June this year. He played in every game for the Young Lions and was instrumental in their success at the tournament.
The Spurs academy is filled with some exceptional talents. Dane Scarlett, who is on loan at Portsmouth, has been on fire there. The likes of Josh Keeley and Tyrell Ashcroft to name a few are all potential future players for the club.

It is good to see the club tying down talents like Devine for a long future. The young players are the most in-demand in today’s market and having an asset like the 18-year-old is always promising. Hopefully, it won’t be long before the player becomes a regular for Tottenham.
