Antonio Conte held a surprising morning session with Tottenham Hotspur players
Antonio Conte held a surprising morning training session for his Tottenham Hotspur side, just hours after losing against Sporting Lisbon, according to the Daily Mail.
Spurs were left shocked when they conceded two goals in the last few minutes of the game after the game being goalless for 90 minutes. Conte is also believed to have torn into his players in the dressing room after the full-time whistle.
The north London club players returned and headed to the club’s Lodge retreat at their training ground. The players were already scheduled to spend the night there, with a view to an afternoon training session the next day.
However, the Italian coach had different ideas. He did not inform the players of their training schedule for today and led them to one earlier than anticipated.
The players started training at 11 am for their late concession of goals in Portugal. It is clear that the manager is angry with his side for their poor performance last time out.
Emerson Royal was at fault for both the goals as Hugo Lloris did everything to keep his side in the game. Ivan Perisic was the best player for the club last night, with everyone else having a poor game.
Some would say that it was harsh on Conte’s part to begin training so early after the game, but it was well deserved. The players cannot afford to have such a relaxed mentality if they want to win silverware this season.
