Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte admits that Yves Bissouma is struggling
In what will come as a surprise to Tottenham Hotspur fans, Antonio Conte has admitted that Yves Bissouma is struggling to adapt to his tactics.
Speaking at the press conference on Thursday as quoted in the Express, the Italian boss provided a bit of a worrying update.
There are players like Richarlison, who went into the team quickly, [Clement] Lenglet was the same, [Ivan] Perisic, the only player struggling with the tactical aspect is Bissouma.
Fans have been to see the new summer signing perform with the club having bought him for £25 million from Brighton & Hove Albion. But that has not been the case.
Bissouma has only made one start this season against West Ham United. The 26-year-old has played in five league games this season, coming off the bench in four of them.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur have established an unbreakable bond in the middle of the park this season. With the Mali international struggling to adapt to Conte’s tactics, it could take him some time to break the established bond.
Meanwhile, other new signings, especially Richarlison and Ivan Perisic have had no problems breaking into the team. Both the players have been outstanding so far, and are likely to remain favourites to start games for Spurs.
It is really surprising to see the former Brighton midfielder struggle to adapt to Conte’s tactics. With a very hectic schedule ahead for the next couple of months, Conte will hope that the 26-year-old can get up to speed.

Spurs will host Leicester City this Saturday for their next game. With the visitors sitting at the bottom of the table, maybe Conte will give Bissouma a chance. Fans will hope that if given, the player makes full use of it.
