Harry Kane with a special message for Heung-min Son’s excellent performance off the bench
Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane has lauded his teammate Heung-min Son for his heroics against Leicester City, wherein he came off the bench and scored a wonderful hattrick to guide his team to a stellar victory.
Son had been the subject of heavy criticism due to his dismal and rather unusual start to the season wherein he had failed to find the back of the net until yesterday.
There were calls from the supporters to drop the forward in place of new signing Richarlison, who has impressed since his move from Everton and the Brazilian was given the nod over Son for the game against the Foxes.
In fairness to Richarlison, he actually played a decent game and was influential for the second goal however the 2021/22 golden boot’s introduction from the bench was exemplary.
Son scored his first goal and a first hat trick of the season in just under 14 minutes, shutting down all the critics with a mind-blowing cameo performance.
It is not just the goals scored but the manner in which they were scored that really showcased the talent and ability possessed by the player.
Son was highly influential in Spurs’ late charge for the top four last season and was the highest scorer in the league alongside Liverpool’s Mohammad Salah.
Clearly, his importance to the team is beyond question and a dip in form is part of the game and has been faced by great players.
