William Gallas believes Arsenal better placed to win Premier League over Tottenham Hotspur

According to former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas, the Gooners have a better chance of winning the Premier League than Spurs.

Speaking to Genting Casino (h/t Daily Star), the former centre-back admitted that Antonio Conte’s side was tough to beat, but fancies Arsenal to finish above their rivals this season.

“I think Arsenal have a better opportunity to compete for the title than Tottenham because this season they aren’t playing in the Champions League, and I think they have to be focussed on the title.”

Spurs have gotten off to a very good start this season winning five games and drawing another two. They sit third with 17 points, one behind their north London rivals who are at the top of the table.

Conte will know that next month could potentially be the season-defining month for his club, both in the Premier League and on the European stage.

The north London club play nine matches in total in all competitions and winning all should be the priority. Spurs players have been in very good form during the international break this month.

Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Richarlison have all scored for their countries. This will come as good news to Conte, especially with Son finding his form. The Korean got off to a very disappointing start but scored a hat-trick against Leicester City just before the break. He then also scored for his country in both their friendlies.

Arsenal and Tottenham have faced each other 191 times since 1909, with the Gooners winning 79 times and Spurs 61 times. 51 games have ended as a draw. There is a huge gap and Conte will want to reduce that.
