Jermaine Jenas criticises Tottenham ace Harry Kane for going missing in big games
Former Spurs favourite Jermaine Jenas has criticised Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane for going missing in finals and big games for the club.
This comes after Spurs embarrassing 3-1 defeat to Arsenal last Saturday. Despite scoring from the spot, the 29-year-old England captain has come under criticism from former Spurs midfielder.
Speaking to FIVE (h/t Football. London), the former Tottenham player criticised the striker for not coming up with the goods in big games.
“I need to see more from him. My biggest issue with Harry Kane is – and he is going to be a God at Spurs whenever he decides to retire and he will go down as one of the greatest players in Premier League history – finals and big games, I think, are a problem when it comes to what he has done in those moments.”
Kane had a relatively quiet afternoon in the north London derby last week. The striker did not look very threatening like he always does and scored what would become a mere consolation goal after 90 minutes.
But to criticise the Spurs talisman for missing in big games is not right. The 29-year-old has been prolific for both club and country throughout the years. One bad game and people seem to forget what a clinical and lethal striker the England captain is.
He has been in fine form this season too. The striker has seven goals in eight league games for his club. Had it not been for him, it would be unlikely that the north London club would have been sitting in the third position currently on the table.

Spurs take on last season’s Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt later tonight for their Champions League group-stage game. Kane is very much likely to start and will hope to get on the scoresheet and silence his critics like he always does.
