Peter Crouch is surprised that Son Heung-Min is still at Tottenham Hotspur
Speaking in an interview as quoted by the Metro, former Tottenham Hotspur striker Peter Crouch praised Son Heung-Min and admitted that he is a little surprised by the fact that Spurs have managed to keep hold of the South Korean.
After a stupendous last season in the Premier League where he finished the joint top-scorer alongside Mohamed Salah, it has taken Son some time to get going and start firing on all cylinders this season.
Yet, the South Korean superstar reminded the whole world of what he is capable of with an exhilarating hattrick against Brendan Rodger’s Leicester City when he came on as a second-half substitute.
Regardless of how things have gone this season, Son is, without doubt, a legend of Tottenham and is a superstar in his own right. He has built his own legacy at Hotspur Way and is still one of our best players.
It is only a matter of time before the 30-year-old superstar gets back to his very best. Once he starts scoring though, Antonio Conte’s side will look like a different proposition and start really impressing.
Speaking about Son, former striker Crouch is baffled by the fact that none of the big clubs have snatched the South Korean away from us yet.
“I think he needs to have more respect on his name. The funny thing it Tottenham don’t seem to have had a problem keeping him. I don’t know why the top top clubs in Europe don’t come in for him – he is that good”
Crouch’s concern is not totally unwarranted. Considering the kind of form Son has shown, it is surprising that one of the top European clubs, with all due respect to Spurs, hasn’t tried to sign the South Korean.
Now though, we have the squad to compete on all fronts and a fit and firing Son would really be helpful. We know that the 30-year-old can be absolutely devastating and we need to see it more often.
