Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham battle Borussia Dortmund and Everton for Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus
According to German outlet Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo), Everton, Borussia Dortmund, and Tottenham Hotspur could be set to battle it out for Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus.
The Ghana international recently scored against Liverpool in his team’s 2-1 UEFA Champions League draw, which has brought his name to notice among those that don’t religiously follow the Eredivisie.
It seems that the Toffees, BVB, and Spurs already have an idea about the 22-year-old’s ability and potential. Everton in particular have been following him for a while, with the player believed to have stopped training with Ajax this summer to force a move to Goodison Park.
In the end, he stayed put. It remains to be seen if the Dutch giants are willing to part ways with another young superstar in the making after losing Lisandro Martinez and Antony just recently this summer.
Kudus to Spurs?
Kudus still has three years left on his contract (Transfermarkt). The attacking midfielder has started the season in great fashion and has scored eight times in 12 across all competitions for his club.
The Ghanaian star was scooped up by Ajax from Danish club Nordsjaelland in the summer of 2020. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength to become one of Ajax’s most important outlets for goals.
Spurs don’t really have an opening in their team for Kudus if we go by how manager Antonio Conte has been lining up recently. His 3-4-2-1 doesn’t really afford any space for a natural central playmaker.
And Harry Kane is arguably untouchable down the middle in attack – a position where Kudus has played before. However, the 29-year-old international cannot be here forever.

Moreover, there is always the chance of seeing Kudus in another position at the club if he does end up moving to N17. Given his age, talent, and hype, this is a move Spurs should make.
