Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News: Harry Kane breaks silence on Bayern Munich interest
Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich recently, and now, the Tottenham Hotspur superstar has given his thoughts on the interest from the German giants.
The 29-year-old England international, speaking at a pre-match press conference before the UEFA Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt, said (h/t the Athletic) [Subscription Required]:
“I’m focused on Tottenham Hotspur and trying to do my best for us, for sure. Bayern are a top, top club but all my concentration is on Tottenham and trying to win tomorrow night.”
Bayern have the Robert Lewandowski-shaped void to fill ever since the Poland international left the Germans to join Barcelona this season. Sadio Mane, naturally a winger, hasn’t really been up to expectations.
It is logical to think of Kane when one thinks of Lewandowski given the two centre-forwards’ lethal scoring rate and importance to their clubs. There aren’t many proven strikers in European football and as the past has shown, Bayern doesn’t tend to settle for second best.
Kane, meanwhile, has two years left on his contract at Spurs. It is understood that the Lilywhites are open to extending his stay at N17 – which isn’t surprising at all.
Kane has started this season well, scoring eight times and assisting once in 12 games across all competitions. Spurs sure could use him at his best tomorrow night when we host the defending Europa League champions.

A win here would really be a much-needed boost in our bid to qualify for the last 16. It is least our fans would expect after the summer transfer window we’ve had and the teams we’ve been drawn against – with all due respect to Frankfurt, Sporting CP, and Olympique de Marseille.
