Antonio Conte was worried after Harry Kane missed his penalty in stoppage time against Frankfurt
Antonio Conte has revealed that he was worried after Harry Kane missed from the penalty spot in extra time to seal the win for his side against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Spurs went one down in the 14th minute against Frankfurt but quickly responded through a Heung-min Son goal.
Kane then gave his side the lead from the spot and the Korean made it 3-1 with a beautiful volley from inside the box in the 36th minute.
Conte; “We conceded a corner they scored, then we missed the penalty. When we missed the penalty I admit I was a bit scared, because I thought everything can happen.” https://t.co/rL691Ickl1

The north London club looked set for all three points and were also playing against 10 men with Tuta seeing a red card in the 59th minute.
However, Faride Alidou gave the German side some hope in the 87th minute when he scored with a header from the corner. Kane had the opportunity to seal the game in the 90th minute after Bryan Gil was fouled in the box.
But to everyone’s surprise, the England international fired his shot above the bar. Things looked like it could go either way in extra time. But the north London club remained resilient and walked away with all three points.
Conte has now revealed that he was worried his side might bottle the two-goal lead. Speaking after the game, as quoted in the Independent, the Italian coach explained his feelings towards the end.
“In the last part of the game, everybody conceded the game ended, and for this reason, we made a big mistake. We conceded a corner they scored, then we had the opportunity to score the penalty, but we missed the penalty. When we missed the penalty, honestly, I was a bit scared, because I thought everything can happen.”
