Tottenham Hotspur eye Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic as potential Harry Kane replacement if he joins Bayern Munich
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a surprise £78million move for Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus if Harry Kane does end up joining Bayern Munich in the near future, as per CalcioMercatoWeb via HITC (h/t Football.London).
The Serbia international moved to Juve just this January after having a very good time with Fiorentina. With Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United last summer, Vlahovic was expected to plug that gap up front.
His goalscoring responsibilities have increased this year given the departure of Paulo Dybala on a free transfer to AS Roma.
However, he is already being linked with a move to Spurs in the same year where he has already changed clubs once. Juve have had a terrible start to their campaign in both Serie A and the Champions League, and it is very likely that they are eliminated from their group in UCL.
Kane has been linked with the Bavarian giants in recent weeks. The 29-year-old England international recently recognised them as a ‘top club’, saying at a pre-match press conference before the game against Eintracht Frankfurt at N17 (h/t Eurosport):
“I’m focused on Tottenham Hotspur and trying to do my best for us. For sure Bayern are a top, top club. But all my concentration is on Tottenham and trying to win tomorrow night.”
Kane, one of the most lethal goal-scorers in the history of the Premier League, is a tried and tested striker in English football. It is not unwise to suggest that there is a possibility that a player of his calibre and capabilities may take years to replace – if he does leave.
As good as Vlahovic has been in Italy, it would still be a gamble. No one can say if he will bang in the goals in the Premier League at the level Kane has.
