Ivan Perisic sends an important message to teammates after Croatia win

Tottenham Hotspur star Ivan Perisic has taken to Instagram to send an important message to his Croatia teammates that the job was not over after his country’s impressive 4-1 win against Canada.

After failing to win their first game against Morocco, Croatia got off to the worst possible start ever going behind to an Alphonse Davies goal within two minutes of kick-off. However, the 2018 World Cup runners responded brilliantly.

It took some time for the Croatians to get their first goal but once they did, it was as if the floodgates had opened. One player who had a crucial role to play in the win was Spurs star Ivan Perisic.

Playing further upfield than he does at N17, Perisic thrived and provided two assists for Croatia. The versatile footballer loved the lease of life in the attacking half, creating a number of dangerous chances for the forward player.

Perisic has been solid for Spurs ever since making his way to North London this summer. The former Inter Milan man arrived injured but quickly made a recovery and is now competing with the impressive Ryan Sessegnon for the Lilywhites.

In 86 minutes on the pitch, Perisic had 56 touches of the ball completing 24 of his 31 passes with three key passes including one big chance created. It was a masterclass from the Croatian veteran.

Here is what the Tottenham left wing-back had to say regarding Croatia’s impressive win against Canada on Instagram.

“Job’s not finished, let’s keep focus.”

Croatia showed yesterday that they are no slouches and that they can play some extremely attractive football. They could actually beat Belgium on the final matchday to knock them out of the tournament and secure progression to our next round.
