Tam McManus predicts Richarlison to have a better second-half season for Tottenham Hotspur
Speaking in an interview exclusively with Football Insider, pundit Tam McManus has claimed that although Richarlison has not exactly hit the ground running as a Tottenham Hotspur player but believes that the Brazilian striker will have a better second-half season.
Richarlison joined Tottenham from Everton in the summer in a big-money move and although he made an initial impact on the team, he is yet to score in the Premier League and injuries have really crippled him.
The Brazilian striker has had a good start to the World Cup and is successfully keeping Gabriel Jesus out of the team. As a number nine, Richarlison is very good and he can be useful for Tottenham.
The problem for Antonio Conte is that he already has Harry Kane in his ranks and the Englishman is arguably one of the best strikers in the world and plays every single game for Spurs.
If Conte needs to accommodate Richarlison into the team, he either needs to play out of position on the left or right wing or be a part of a front two, playing just behind Kane and acting as a second striker.
Richarlison has not yet adjusted to playing this different role at Tottenham and is far more comfortable in the Brazil national team where he is the lone striker and can play as the number nine.
Speaking about the Tottenham striker, here is what McManus has predicted for the future of Richarlison this season.
“He was their big-money signing in the summer and he hasn’t really hit the ground running. You see him at number nine when he is playing for Brazil and his record in that shirt is unbelievable”
“That’s his spot in the Brazil team. You see him at number nine when he is playing for Brazil and his record in that shirt is unbelievable. That’s his spot in the Brazil team”
Richarlison is definitely a player capable of fitting into a Conte system seamlessly. The talented Brazilian will be hoping to stay fit and put in better numbers on his return to club football.
