Tottenham Hotspur target Sofyan Amrabat’s brother makes transfer plea to PSG
AEK Athens and former Watford winger Nordin Amrabat has requested Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to sign his brother, Sofyan, who is on the transfer radar of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Sofyan Amrabat has been brilliant for Morocco with the captain’s armband at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His inspired performances in the team’s midfield have seen them make the World Cup semi-finals.
He recently put up a brilliant defensive display in his team’s 1-0 win against Portugal in the quarter-finals. Morocco have conceded just once in five games so far in the competition, and Amrabat’s contribution from midfield has been vital in that regard.
His performances in Qatar have caught the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs. As per Liverpool Echo, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and now PSG, have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old.
In a recent interview with L’Equipe (h/t Liverpool Echo), his brother said:
“Nasser Al-Khelaifi, if you read my words, take my brother!”
PSG could use a defensive midfielder like Amrabat considering Danilo Pereira has been playing as a centre-back at times this campaign due to the French club’s injury issues in defence.
Spurs can do with such a signing as well. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg may look immune to injuries given his track record here but he is flesh and blood.
But after the hype and given his regular playing time at Fiorentina and Morocco, it remains to be seen if he goes to a team where he is not guaranteed a starting berth.

It isn’t uncommon for North African players to play in Ligue 1 given some of the cultural similarities between the two countries. Moreover, PSG are notably well-loaded when it comes to money and could make being a squad option worthwhile for any player they set their eyes on.
