Transfer News: Memphis Depay to sort his future at Barcelona by next week amid Tottenham Hotspur interest
Barcelona forward Memphis Depay is set to sort his future at the Catalonia club by next week amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Sport (h/t Express).
The 28-year-old has struggled for game time this season with Xavi preferring Robert Lewandowski to lead his line. The Dutchman’s future has been uncertain for some time now, but it could be resolved as early as next week.
Spurs are not alone in their pursuit though, with his former club Manchester United also interested in bringing him back to Old Trafford. AS Roma and Juventus are also keeping tabs on the forward.

Antonio Conte could look to add to his front line in the January transfer window. The Italian has a fine choice of attackers to choose from, but the attack lacks depth, unlike the other departments.
Recent injuries to Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski highlighted this problem, with the likes of Lucas Moura and Bryan Gil failing to perform at the expected level. Son Heung-min too has been inconsistent this season, effectively leaving Harry Kane to get in the goals.
Depay could make a fine addition in such a case. While the forward has only played three games for the La Liga side this season, he was their top scorer last season scoring 12 goals in 28 league games.
The Dutchman will see his current contract expire next summer and is not expected to extend his stay in Spain. As such, Spurs could potentially land the player for a cut-fee price and it could prove to be a bargain in the long run.

It remains to be seen if the forward can sort his future next week. If not, it will be wise for Conte to make a move for the 28-year-old when the transfer window opens next month.
