Injury News: Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has ruled out Rodrigo Bentancur for the Brentford clash
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has ruled out Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur for the clash against Brentford on Monday (December 26).
Speaking ahead of the game as quoted in the Evening Standard, the boss hoped that the 25-year-old would be fit for the clash against Aston Villa on New Year.
“Rodrigo has started to work. I think that he’s going to be good for the game against Aston Villa.”
Bentancur picked up a thigh injury during the game against Ghana at the World Cup. It will come as a relief for the boss and the fans that their star midfielder will not be out for a long time.

Antonio Conte addressed the media ahead of our Boxing Day trip to Brentford ⤵️
The midfielder has been one of our best players so far and has formed a formidable partnership with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the middle of the park. The 25-year-old has featured in 21 games in all competitions so far, missing only one game and has scored five goals in the process.
He is not the only player who will miss the game on Monday. Defender Cristian Romero will sit out the game against the Bees alongside goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Fraser Forster is likely to start his first game for the club after joining us in the summer on a free transfer.
Richarlison, who picked up a hamstring injury against Croatia during the quarter-finals with Brazil in Qatar, has been ruled out for at least three weeks, meaning he could come back at the end of January.
It is shame as the Brazilian was in top form at the World Cup and Conte could have done with a player in his form as he looks for a positive start to a hectic and congested second half of the season.
