Transfer News: La Liga side Valencia show interest in Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil
La Liga side Valencia are showing interest in 21-year-old Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil, according to Spanish outlet Relevo (h/t Daily Mail).
Gil, who joined the north London club in the summer of 2021 from La Liga side Sevilla for £21 million has struggled to establish himself in the first-team. He has been a fringe player for Antonio Conte so far, making only six appearances in all competitions.
He was even loaned out to Valencia last season in January and spent the second of the season there. It seems it could be the same again, although this time it seems it will be a permanent move.
Conte has relied heavily on Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski to occupy both sides of the wing with Harry Kane leading the attack. Summer signing Richarlison has been the only forward who has been able to provide competition to the first-team attackers.
It is clear that Gil has not been part of Conte’s plan for the first half of the season and things are unlikely to change going forward. It will therefore be wise for the winger to seek to ply his trade elsewhere.
Spurs could try to recoup as much as possible for the sale of the 21-year-old and invest that money to bring in another forward who will be able to provide tough competition to the regular players.
He is not the only one who has an interest from Spain. Midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has interest from Sevilla, while Djed Spence and Japhet Tanganga could also be on their way out of the club.

With the January transfer window starting from next Sunday, it remains to be seen what happens with Gil and his future at the north London club. There is no point keeping names on the bench just for show.
Either use them, or let them hone their skills elsewhere.
