Tottenham Hotspur open to Emerson Royal Adrien Rabiot swap; Juventus want cash deal for midfielder
Tottenham Hotspur are open to letting Emerson Royal go in a swap deal with Juventus for Adrien Rabiot. However, the Old Lady only want a cash deal for the midfielder, according to CalcioMercatoWeb (h/t football.london).
The 27-year-old is in the final year of his current contract. As a result, the France international will be a free agent next summer. Thus, the former Paris Saint-Germain star has been offered to a number of clubs ahead of January.
Several sides in the Premier League have been handed the opportunity to get Rabiot’s signature in the upcoming transfer window. But the Serie A giants do not want a player in return for their midfielder.
The 27-year-old joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 2019. Since then, he has been a regular first-team player for the Italian outfit. However, the France international has taken his game to the next level this season.
In the current campaign, Rabiot has been impressive, even though Juventus have struggled. In 16 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady in all competitions this season, he has scored five goals and provided two assists.
The 27-year-old was also a pivotal player for Didier Deschamps at the 2022 World Cup. Les Bleus made it to the final in Qatar but were beaten by Argentina on penalties.
Currently, Spurs’ middle of the park has a number of defensive midfield options in Yves Bissouma, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Fortunately, the Denmark international has added goals to his game in the current campaign.
Rodrigo Bentancur is the only attack-minded midfielder Antonio Conte seems to trust. The Uruguayan has been impressive in North London since his arrival from Juventus in January.
