Manchester United duo Anthony Elanga and Victor Lindelof congratulate Spurs’ Dejan Kulusevski on Sweden award win
Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski was congratulated by Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof and Anthony Elanga after he won the 2022 Guldbollen, which is presented by national newspaper Aftonbladet and the Swedish Football Association.
As per Football.London, the 22-year-old has become the youngest recipient of the award since 1990, when Tomas Brolin won it. Deki deserved this award.
Since joining the Lilywhites in January from Juventus, he has scored six times and provided 13 assists in 33 games across competitions for us. Moreover, it’s not just his goals and assists.
Whenever he is on the pitch, we automatically look like a more dangerous side going forward. His absence with an injury before the 2022 FIFA World Cup break was a big blow for us.
Since his return, especially in the games against Liverpool and Brentford in the Premier League, Kulusevski reminded us just what we were missing. It seems that he is highly rated within the Sweden camp too.
Man United duo congratulate Kulusevski
After his award win, the former Juventus winger posted a series of photos on his Instagram account featuring the coveted trophy. Elanga and two-time Guldbollen winner Lindelof were there to congratulate him.
The Swedish winger wrote “That’s ma dawggg [clap emoji x 2 and High-five emoji]“. The former SL Benfica defender, meanwhile, commented in Swedish and wrote “Tung är du!!!!! Stort grattis“, which translates roughly to “You are heavy!!!! Congratulations”.
These three have been three of Sweden’s best players in recent years and one can expect them to be a regular feature for their national team in the coming years. Kulusevski was also congratulated by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, former Juventus teammate Matthijs de Ligt, Emil Forsberg, and Mikael Lustig among others.

Kulusevski is just getting started. He is a regular feature in one of England’s top six clubs and he will hope that this is just the start. Matching Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 12 Sweden Player of the Year wins seems impossible, but he can at least aim to get close.
