Liverpool ready to make a big offer for Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat, who is also linked with Tottenham Hotspur
According to the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (h/t Calciomercato), Liverpool are ready to make a huge offer, in the region of £40million for Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat, with Tottenham Hotspur also seriously interested in the player.
Amrabat was one of the standout performers at the FIFA World Cup 2022 and played a key role in guiding Morocco to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Considerably, there has been a lot of generated interest in the player since the tournament with the player currently plying his trade for Italian outfit Fiorentina.
Antonio Conte is keen to add new profiles to the current Spurs set-up after a disappointing restart to the season which has seen us lose out on 5 points in the two games.
The 2-0 loss against Aston Villa saw us getting out of the top four positions for the first team this season and something needs to be done urgently to solve the current slump in form.
Amrabat proved it on the grandest stage of all and showcased his qualities and capability of playing at the highest level. He is a talented defensive midfielder who specialises in breaking up play and shielding the defence.
It’s not the most glorious role in football but one that is very necessary. Moreover, our rivals are improving with each passing day with transfers being done to take care of the deficiencies. Losing Amrabat to Liverpool would be a double blow in that regard for us.
Conte has publicly addressed his desire for high-quality players to compete with the top teams and losing Ambrat to rivals Liverpool who are also fighting for a top-four spot would be tough to take.
Daniel Levy was seemingly supportive of the manager’s ideas and went big in the summer but it is clear that more additions are needed in the squad for Conte to deliver.
