Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte full of praise for Bryan Gil after Crystal Palace
Speaking in the post-match interview after Tottenham Hotspur’s impressive win over Crystal Palace as quoted by Football. London, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte was full of praise for talented Spanish forward Bryan Gil.
Gil had an exceptional performance for the Tottenham side last night. He was brilliant in a much-needed 4-0 win for the Lilywhites. It was a refreshing performance on the back of quite a few duds from the North London club.
Goals from Son Heung-Min, Matt Doherty and a brace from Harry Kane helped see Tottenham through on an important night. The former Sevilla winger turned provider for the second Kane goal and had a crucial role to play in the first one as well.
After months of bewilderness at Tottenham when he looked like he did not have a future anymore, Gil has slowly yet surely worked himself into Conte’s plans and has started the last two games.
It was a timely reminder of just how talented Gil is. We have seen it in the past during his time at Eibar in Spain. However, Tottenham would have a lot of issues solved if the youngster can emerge as a crucial player for them.
Speaking about Gil’s performance, here is what Conte had to say about a performance that really impressed him.
“It was really important, you know about Bryan Gil we are talking about a player who was born to play football. He understands football quickly.
“He’s so clever, so intelligent to understand the situation. I compared him to Bernardo Silva, at Manchester City, because in my opinion they are really, really similar”
Conte and Tottenham will be hoping that Gil can continue on a similar level and impress at every given opportunity. He is likely to get an extended run in the team until Dejan Kulusevski returns.
The win last night must have taken a lot of pressure off Spurs. Antonio Conte will also be a more relieved man after coming into a lot of criticism for the dismal displays of his side in recent times.

It remains to be seen how Tottenham go about the rest of the season but with Gil showing he can be of use in the big time, fans can rest easy even if the club misses out on signing a new attacker in Janaury. They now need to fight to get back into the top 4 and it certainly will not be easy.
