Ivan Perisic wants to see out Tottenham Hotspur contract
According to a report from Calciomercato. It (h/t Football. London), Ivan Perisic is very happy at Tottenham Hotspur and wants to see out the rest of his deal until 2024.
Perisic was signed on a free-transfer from Inter Milan in the summer. There were a lot of question marks over the acquisition of the Croatian veteran and if he could still do a job at the top level.
However, the 33-year-old has simply taken to the Premier League like fish to water and has quickly settled in as one of Tottenham’s most important players. He plays at left wing-back and has such a huge influence on the game.
The Croatian loves bombing forward. Despite his advancing age, Perisic’s pace has not dipped and he shows excellent work rate in getting forward and dropping back throughout the ninety minutes without getting tired.
The Croatian veteran has an excellent cross in his locker and more often than not finds his target. With someone like Harry Kane in the box, this has worked out very well for Antonio Conte.
Perisic is on a deal until 2024. He is apparently keen on staying at N17 and seeing out his contract and it looks like he believes he can do a job and stay up to level until he is 35-36 years of age.
Perisic had an excellent World Cup with Croatia. He was one of their best players. Playing on the left-wing and without much defensive responsibility, the 33-year-old was a total beast for the eventual bronze medalists.
If the former Inter Milan man can maintain this level, there is no reason why he should not continue at Tottenham. His presence is also helping Ryan Sessegnon a lot which is evident on the pitch.
