Manchester United-linked Memphis Depay ‘offered’ to Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have been ‘offered’ the signature of Barcelona star and Manchester United-linked Memphis Depay in the ongoing transfer window, according to the Daily Star (h/t Express).
Spurs are seen as a potential destination for the Holland international in January. The Blaugrana are looking to part ways with the 28-year-old this month.
The forward’s current contract with the Camp Nou side expires at the end of the season. As a result, the Spanish outfit are looking to cash in on him.
Eddie Howe’s team have been earmarked by Depay’s camp. The Magpies are enjoying a fruitful campaign, currently third in the Premier League. Their attack heavily relies on Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak to find the back of the net.
Atletico Madrid are also eyeing the Holland international’s signature. However, Barcelona do not like the idea of selling the forward to a direct rival.
Man United are also in the race for Depay’s signature. The Holland international had a previous stint in Manchester under Louis van Gaal. However, they recently signed Wout Weghorst on loan. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether they will pursue the 28-year-old.
Tottenham have a stacked front line at the moment. Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have been one of the best forwards in the English top flight over the years. Unfortunately, the South Korean has struggled for form this season.
Antonio Conte also has Dejan Kulusevksi and Richarlison at his disposal. However, injuries have hampered the Swedish and Brazilian stars’ campaigns up until now.

Apart from Kane, none of the attackers has consistently been able to find the back of the net this season. Depay has fallen out of favour in Barcelona. But it remains to be seen whether the Holland international will choose Spurs over the other options he has.
