Verbal offer by Tottenham Hotspur for Leandro Trossard rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion
According to journalist David Ornstein via his Twitter, Brighton & Hove Albion have rejected a verbal offer of £12m for Belgium international Leandro Trossard from Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are in urgent need of a push and it may most probably come from a new face in the team, with the team currently far in terms of performances to finish in the top four.
Trossard has been touted as one of the names the club is looking at, with the attacking player currently unsettled at Brighton & Hove Albion and looking for a way out.
His current contract with the Seagulls expires in June 2024 (Transfermarkt) and with no imminent inclination over a contract extension, Brighton could be looking to cash in on the player.
On the other hand, there is no doubt about the player’s ability has been in impressive form this season and his ability to play in multiple positions should particularly please Antonio Conte.
We are in no doubt going through a rough period and are nowhere close to the form shown at the beginning of the season.
Doubts are being raised over the team and also the manager’s ability to take the team forward. Somehow, it does feel like a part of the downfall is due to the fact that Conte has not fully committed himself to the club.
When there is uncertainty surrounding who is in charge, the team will get dysfunctional and results such as the defeat to Arsenal are bound to happen.
Daniel Levy would have to make some strong decisions if the current slump continues as the crop of players currently at the club are top international players and certainly better than what they have been showing the past few games.
