Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur monitoring Rennes’ Lovro Majer and Adrien Truffert
Tottenham Hotspur are tracking Stade Rennais stars Adrien Truffert and Lovro Majer, as per French outlet Jeunes Footeux. The two recently caught the eye after starting in the Rennes’ team that beat Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 1-0 at Roazhon Park.
Truffert is a 21-year-old left-back who is a product of the French outfit’s youth academy. He has five assists in 19 Ligue 1 games this season and his contract expires in the summer of 2025 (Transfermarkt).
He is also represented by the same agency as Tottenham Hotspur stars Fraser Forster and Ben Davies. This is a strange one considering we already have Ryan Sessegnon, Ivan Perisic, and Davies as players who can play in that position.
Moreover, Sergio Reguilon is due to return to N17 this summer from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid. However, this could be a move made with the future in mind.
Spurs should sign both
Perisic, after all, is on a contract that expires in the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt) and is already 33 years old. Reguilon’s future at the club would be under serious doubt considering he was allowed by the club to leave on loan.
They even signed Perisic last summer in order to play down the left flank instead of the former Real Madrid left-back. Lovro Majer, meanwhile, is an interesting option to consider in midfield.
The Croatia international is primarily an attacking midfielder – a profile we desperately need to add to the team. In so many games, fans feel the need for a link between our central midfield and the attack down the middle of the pitch.
The 25-year-old Majer has one goal and two assists in 16 Ligue 1 games this campaign but his contract expires at the end of the 2026-27 campaign (Transfermarkt). Hence, Rennes’ stance on both players will be key to Tottenham’s hopes of signing them.

They have a certain degree of control over their futures until they enter at least the last six months of their deal. Moreover, Spurs can expect competition from Manchester United for Majer, who has been billed as Luka Modric’s potential successor.
