Tottenham Hotspur have not ‘renewed’ interest in Everton forward Anthony Gordon
Tottenham Hotspur have not ‘renewed’ their interest in Everton star Anthony Gordon amidst reports of him leaving the Toffees, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge on Twitter (h/t football.london).
In the summer of 2022, Spurs were linked with a move for the 21-year-old. However, a deal failed to materialise and the youngster stayed in Merseyside.
However, the forward will likely leave Everton this month. But the North London side are not a potential destination for now, with Antonio Conte’s team not looking at his signature.
Gordon made his way through the youth ranks at the Merseyside outfit. After impressing at the youth level, the youngster broke into the senior side in the 2019/20 campaign.
The 21-year-old subsequently spent some time on loan at Preston North End in the Championship. Then last season, the forward made his mark with the Toffees.
Gordon became a key player for Frank Lampard as Everton were fighting relegation. Along with the England U21 international, Richarlison, who joined Tottenham last summer, was key to Everton surviving the drop.
But the Merseyside outfit have once again struggled in the current campaign. Lampard has been sacked and they currently sit 19th in the Premier League table. The 21-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions this term for the Goodison Park side, scoring three goals.
Spurs’ forward line is stacked with quality. Conte can call upon the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison. We also signed Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal this month.

Therefore, Gordon’s signing does not seem necessary at the moment. However, it remains to be seen how the 21-year-old will develop over time and whether the North London side will revive their interest in him further down the line.
