Fabrizio Romano confirms Pedro Porro is set for Tottenham Hotspur transfer
Fabrizio Romano has given the long-awaited ‘Here we go!’ to Tottenham Hotspur’s links with Sporting Lisbon’s Pedro Porro.
The Spanish right-back has been linked with us for the majority of the winter window and Spurs have had several hurdles in negotiations with the Portuguese giants. But it seems that he is finally headed to N17.
Romano’s tweet read:
“Tottenham reach full verbal agreement with Sporting to sign Pedro Porro, here we go! It will be sealed in the next 24h, if all goes to plan ⚪️🤝🏻 #THFC Pedro Porro will say goodbye tonight and then sign with Spurs until 2028. Boarding completed – London ✈️”
This is the move Spurs fans have been waiting for. We would have wanted a few more signings elsewhere, especially in central defence, but we’ll make do with this.
Porro to Spurs, finally!
Moreover, the window isn’t over yet. With a couple of days still left after potentially sealing the deal for Porro, hopefully, Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici are busy finding either a new central midfielder to add depth, a world-class defender, or both.
Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty haven’t been world-class and haven’t shown enough gong forward or when defending. Djed Spence, meanwhile, can’t seem to get a start under manager Antonio Conte no matter what.
Porro has 11 assists and three goals in 25 games across competitions this season. Premier League is different gravy, but those numbers indicate that the 23-year-old right-back can be a very potent tool down that flank.

Arnaut Danjuma has already been loaned in until the end of the season. Hopefully, Porro’s imminent arrival isn’t the last signing for us this window – but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t appreciate what the club has done here in signing the former Manchester City defender.
