Antonio Conte provides positive update following gallbladder surgery
Antonio Conte, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has undergone a successful surgery to remove his gallbladder. The former Inter Milan manager took to social media to update fans on his condition and assure them that everything is fine.
It emerged earlier yesterday that the Italian manager had to go under the knife after a diagnosis of cholecystitis which caused him severe abdominal pain and made him unwell. It is great news that the procedure has gone well.
The Italian manager, who joined Tottenham in the summer of 2021, has been instrumental in reviving the fortunes of the North London club. This season, although having been mixed is still going pretty well.
Conte’s recovery is expected to take a few weeks, but he has assured fans that he will be back in the dugout soon. Knowing how work-committed he is, it will not be a surprise if he returns very quickly.
According to NHS guidance, it takes a minimum of two weeks to return to normal activities after gallbladder removal surgery. His absence will undoubtedly be felt by Tottenham and they will have to step up.
Taking to Instagram, the Italian manager revealed that he was feeling fine after the surgery and thanked everyone for the prayers.
“Thank you for your lovely messages, my surgery has gone well and I’m already feeling better,” wrote the Spurs head coach. “Now’s time to recover, I can’t wait to get back on the field with the team.”
It’s now time for Conte to rest, recover and brace himself for what is set to be a very difficult second half of the season. The Italian manager will have to inspire his team to play some of their best football.
Tottenham are currently out of the top four and would keep pushing until the very last moment. It was a place that they had and they let slip and they cannot afford to do it again.
