Tottenham Hotspur wonderkid Bryan Gil opens up on loan move to Sevilla

Bryan Gil, the talented young Spanish winger who recently left Tottenham Hotspur for Sevilla on loan, spoke to Football. London about his decision to return to his former club.

The 21-year-old Spanish winger explained that his love for the club and the city of Seville was the main reason behind his move. He has been at the club in the past and did not want to pass up the opportunity to return to where it all started.

Gil joined Sevilla as a young boy and rose through the ranks of the club’s youth academy. Despite his success at the club, he was eventually scouted by Tottenham and joined their youth academy in 2021.

Gil went on to explain that his time at Tottenham helped him develop as a player and a person. Playing in the Premier League added a dash of physicality to his game and he will hope that helps him in the longer run.

When given a chance to shine by Antonio Conte at the beginning of 2023, Gil took the opportunity with both hands. He put in performances that would have made the Italian coach proud.

Gil said that his heart always belonged to Sevilla and that he always dreamed of playing for the first team.

“Sevilla is the club that has seen me grow and where I have been happy. It is the club of my life. I did not expect to return, but when my agent said that they were interested in bringing me back, I told him not to look any further.”

Gil’s move to Sevilla has been met with excitement from fans and the media. Many are excited to see the young star return to his former club and contribute to their success. Gil is eager to get started and make a difference for the team.

Jorge Sampoli was the driving force behind wanting to sign Gil. It’s only a simple loan deal though which suggests that Tottenham envision a future for him at the club and will want him to have a good time at the club.
