Cristian Stellini answers if Pedro Porro can make Tottenham Hotspur debut vs Manchester City
Cristian Stellini has hinted that Pedro Porro could make his Tottenham Hotspur debut against Manchester City on 5 January (Sunday) at N17.
The Spanish right-back joined Spurs on a permanent deal on deadline day after his 45milion Euro release clause was met. The 23-year-old is in contention to feature against City.
Moreover, his competition has been reduced. Matt Doherty was allowed to join Atletico Madrid permanently last month while Djed Spence has been loaned out to Stade Rennais.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Stellini was asked if Porro will play against the Cityzens. He replied (h/t Football.London):
“Could be. He is young but he has great experience. He plays in a similar system we use to play and he is available. We can use him in two days.”
“We have another training session. He can improve, he is a great player, technically he is a good player and we were impressed by his performance against us. We know very well him.”
This is an ideal chance to propel him into Premier League football. He was formerly on Manchester City’s books for three years where he had no appearances for them.
He will be looking to make a point against them. Moreover, he could be our best bet on that side if we don’t want to see Emerson Royal start this game.

Either way, we can at least expect to see him in the matchday squad. A substitute appearance won’t hurt as well but all of that takes a backseat when it comes to the result. A win is of the utmost importance.
