Harry Redknapp backs Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Redknapp, the former Tottenham manager, has expressed his belief that Harry Kane will stay with the club and extend his contract after his recent milestone.
Kane recently became Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer. He will not be short of offers with a number of Premier League clubs dying for a striker like the Spurs man. However, Redknapp thinks that Kane has everything he needs at Spurs and will stay put.
Kane’s recent form has been impressive, and he has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world. However, Redknapp thinks that Kane doesn’t need to move away from Tottenham and that he will stay at the club.
Redknapp has praised Kane’s achievements at Tottenham and stated that he deserves all the recognition he has received. Kane has been a vital player for Tottenham, and his goals have helped the club achieve some impressive results.
Kane’s contract with Tottenham runs until 2024, and the club will want to extend his contract and keep him at the club for as long as possible. Kane has been a loyal player for Tottenham, and the club will want to reward him for his efforts.
Kane reached the milestone against Manchester City in his team’s 1-0 win last night. Ironically, it was Pep Guardiola’s side he came closest to joining last summer but Tottenham blocked the move.
Speaking about the player and his time at N17 as quoted by Evening Standard, here is what Redknapp thinks about Kane and if he will stay.
“He can walk in to any team, but does he need to? The money he’s on at Spurs is more than he can ever spend, he’s earning a fortune and quite rightly so.
I think he’s moving house or building a new house, so his life is probably great. He loves his golf and that’s his hobby now, getting a game of golf in when he can. I can’t see him wanting to move away. I think he’ll stay.”
Whilst Redknapp is not wrong in anything that he has said, it is not the money that is proving to be an issue for Kane. The English striker is 29 years old and is yet to win a single trophy at club level.
