Pep Guardiola names two Tottenham players who caused Manchester City problems
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has named Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski and Son-Heung Min as two players who caused his team a lot of problems in their 1-0 loss to Tottenham last night.
Despite starting the game well, as is usually the case for City when playing against Tottenham, a mistake from the team resulted in a goal for Tottenham and left City trailing 1-0. After that, they were unable to get back into the game.
Guardiola acknowledged that City had chances to equalize but struggled to do so when they lost the ball in transition, particularly when it was at the feet of Kulusevski and Son. The two Tottenham players caused City’s defence several difficulties and made it difficult for the team to regain control of the game.

He praised his players for their effort and determination, but also acknowledged that they will need to work on improving their defence, especially when it comes to dealing with fast-paced transitions from their opponents.
Kulusevski and Son have been in decent form for Tottenham this season, and their performances have not gone unnoticed. Guardiola’s comments about the duo highlight their impact on the game and their ability to cause problems for even the strongest teams.
Speaking about the game to SkySports, here is what Pep had to say about why his team suffered last night.
“We started really well, as usually happens against Tottenham home and away, but after we made a mistake they punished us – 1-0 down it is different, we had chances, and of course when we lose balls in transition with Kulusevski and Son, it is not easy. We dropped three points.”
It was a much-needed win and performance for Tottenham. It means that they now find themselves just one point outside the top four. However, the same cannot be said about Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s team had a glorious opportunity to go just two points behind Arsenal in the table. They squandered their chance and now have to find a way to push their way back up on the table.

Ironically, Arsenal would probably be the happiest team with Tottenham’s win last night. Let’s hope we can perform similarly in games to come.
