Kulusevski amazed by Tottenham Hotspur star Rodrigo Bentancur after season-ending injury
As Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face AC Milan in the round of 16 in the Champions League tonight, the absence of Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur will be felt.
The Uruguayan midfielder has been a key player for Tottenham since his move from Juventus last January, but a season-ending injury has ruled him out of action for the remainder of the campaign.
Despite the severity of the injury, Bentancur’s positive mindset has left his Tottenham teammate Dejan Kulusevski shocked. The Uruguayan has apparently been handling the situation admirably.
In an interview with Football. London, Kulusevski spoke about the strength and positivity of Bentancur in the face of adversity
“Rodrigo is so strong on the pitch but outside of the pitch, he’s unbelievable. I’m shocked at how positive he can be after news like that. He will come back strong and I wish him a strong recovery. We miss him on the pitch.”
Bentancur’s absence will be a blow to Tottenham, who have struggled for consistency this season. However, his positive attitude and leadership off the pitch will be invaluable to the team in the coming weeks and months as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season.
Despite the setback, Tottenham will be looking to put in a strong performance against AC Milan tonight. The Italian side have been in mixed form this season but things could look positive if they win today.
With players such as Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Dejan Kulusevski, Tottenham have the attacking firepower to trouble any team. However, they will need to be at their best defensively to contain Milan’s dangerous forwards.
It remains to be seen how Tottenham will cope without Bentancur in the midfield. It’s time for the likes of Oliver Skipp and Pape Matar-Sarr to step up in the absence of the Uruguayan and let’s see how they fare.
