Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte to remain in Italy to recover from his recently conducted gallbladder surgery
According to BBC Sport, Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will remain in Italy post the game against AC Milan to recover from his surgery which occurred two weeks ago.
Conte had a serious health issue and had to get his gallbladder removed and now the Italian through his social media has shared that he would be staying in Italy for the time being to recover from the procedure and that he had underestimated the impact of the procedure.
“Sadly, I underestimated the procedure, which wasn’t a routine operation, but a sudden and serious emergency.
My body has suffered my impatience, and now I am forced to stop until my entire recovery. Who knows me, understands what a burden this is for me, but it is necessary.”
While it would have been ideal if we had the Italian in the dugout for the crucial upcoming games against West Ham United and Chelsea in the league.
However, as reiterated by the club statement that health is the first priority and Conte should be given all the time in the world to recover from his surgery.
In the meantime, assistant coach Cristian Stellini will take charge of the first team after being in the dugout for the win against Manchester City.
The upcoming games against West Ham, Chelsea as well as the second leg of the UEFA Champions League against AC Milan are crucial to determine the direction of the way our season is going to shape up.
Conte has been the manager of the team for more than a season now and it feels like the squad is taking shape in the manner that the Italian likes to play his football.
With the addition of quality personnel who are suited to the requirements of the team, we are not far away from competing with the top teams.
Conte is known as a serial winner due to his cutthroat mentality to win at all costs which has been elevated by his success in winning big trophies in his past spells.
