Leicester City star James Maddison would ‘love to join’ Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have been long-term suitors of Leicester City star James Maddison and the player is keen on a move to N17, as per Football Insider.
The England international wants to join a club in the UEFA Champions League this summer. Spurs are on course to qualify for the competition once again under manager Antonio Conte as they sit fourth in the table.

He has just under a year-and-a-half left on his contract at the King Power Stadium. Hence, Spurs would hope that the Foxes consider a cut-price deal for him in the summer transfer window, which represents a better prospect than losing him for nothing next year.
Newcastle United are also said to be interested in the former Norwich City playmaker, who has scored nine goals and provided five assists in 19 games across competitions this term.
A good move for Spurs?
The 26-year-old is an elite playmaker who can play in central midfield, down the flanks, and as a No. 10. We lack this profile in midfield and could use his creative impetus.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Yves Bissouma are all very good players in central midfield but they lack the creative edge that a player like Maddison provides. He has proven himself in England over the past several seasons.
He also ticks the homegrown box on the checklist which is always a plus for Premier League teams. It remains to be seen if the Foxes will let him leave for a Premier League rival without putting up a fight.
Moreover, Spurs will have to ensure that they make the top-four in order to be an attractive destination for Maddison. Newcastle are also on course to qualify for the Champions League next season and would certainly offer him a better chance at playing time as compared to us.

Hence, a number of factors will have to align if we are to sign the Englishman, but with the player apparently keen on a switch to N17, Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici must remain on their toes when it comes to this particular transfer opportunity.
