Tottenham are interested in signing Evan Ndicka on a free transfer
According to 90min (h/t Football. London), Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Evan Ndicka on a free transfer this summer.
The French defender has been plying his trade in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt for the last few years, and has earned a reputation as one of the most consistent centre-backs in the league.
It’s no secret that Spurs have been in need of defensive reinforcements for some time now. The club has struggled at the back this season with Cristian Romero being the only genuine world-class defender in the squad.

Ndicka would certainly bring some much-needed quality to the Spurs defence. The 23-year-old is strong, quick, and comfortable on the ball. He’s also capable of playing at left-back, which could be useful for Spurs given their lack of options in that position.
Of course, there will be competition for Ndicka’s signature. Arsenal have also been linked with the defender, and they too are in need of defensive reinforcements. However, it’s worth noting that the Gunners recently signed Jakub Kiwior, a left-footed centre-back, in the January transfer window.
It’s also worth noting that Ndicka is available on a free transfer. Signing a player of Ndicka’s quality without having to pay a transfer fee would be a smart piece of business for Spurs. This is too good an opportunity to pass up.
Of course, there are risks involved with signing a player on a free transfer. Ndicka’s wages are likely to be substantial, and there’s always the risk that he could struggle to adapt to the Premier League.
However, Spurs have a good track record when it comes to signing players from the Bundesliga. Son Heung-Min was a player we signed from Bayer Leverkusen all those years back and what a player he has been!
