Marco Rose believes Tottenham target Josko Gvardiol will stay at RB Leipzig
Speaking to @ArilaSos as quoted by popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has claimed that he thinks Josko Gvardiol will stay at the club next season.
Tottenham have been linked with the Croatian defender for quite some time now. However, Leipzig’s head coach, Rose, has recently put an end to any hopes Tottenham may have had of signing Gvardiol in the upcoming transfer window.
This news may come as a disappointment for Tottenham fans who were excited about the prospect of signing a highly-rated young defender. Gvardiol has been on Tottenham’s radar for a while now, and the club was reportedly preparing a bid for the 21-year-old.

Gvardiol’s coach seems to be confident that the defender is happy at Leipzig and has no plans to leave anytime soon. Rose has been quoted as saying,
“Joško Gvardiol will be an RB Leipzig player next season as well. I am the coach and I am asking for that”.
While this news may be frustrating for Tottenham fans, it is important to remember that Gvardiol is still a young player with plenty of time to develop. He has already shown plenty of promise in his performances for Leipzig this season.
The World Cup was where Gvardiol really made a name for himself. The talented Croatian defender was arguably the best centre-back at the tournament except for one particular match against Argentina.
In fact, Gvardiol himself has admitted that he wants to play in the Premier League at some point in his career. This is a huge boost for Tottenham despite what Rose had to say about the player’s future.
Gvardiol’s future is set to be a subject of hot discussion in the summer. Many top clubs will undoubtedly want to sign the player. It will not be a cheap deal by any stretch of the imagination and Tottenham need to be ready.
