Giorgi Mamardashvili and Mike Maignan on Tottenham Hotspur shortlist to replace Hugo Lloris
Valencia shot-stopper Giorgi Mamardashvili and AC Milan star Mike Maignan are amongst the players on the shortlist of Tottenham Hotspur as a replacement for Hugo Lloris, according to football.london.
Spurs are also eyeing a pair of Premier League goalkeepers to replace the France international in between the sticks. Brighton & Hove Albion stopper Robert Sanchez and Brentford’s David Raya are also being eyed by the North London side.
In the upcoming transfer window, Tottenham will look to bring a new number one to the club. The Lilywhites are keen on a new long-term first-choice shot-stopper.
Lloris signed for Spurs in the summer of 2012 from Olympique Lyon. Since then, the 36-year-old has been the first name on the team sheet for us. However, in recent seasons, the 2018 World Cup winner’s performances have been inconsistent.
Mamardashvili is being tracked by Tottenham. The 22-year-old is seen as one for the future. Earlier in the campaign, the Georgia international signed a new contract until 2027 with an £88 million release clause.
Spurs have had their eyes on Maignan for some time now. The 27-year-old signed for Milan in the summer of 2021 and has been pivotal to their success. However, it remains to be seen whether the France international will replace his compatriot in North London.
As for Sanchez, he has been impressive for Brighton in the English top flight. The 25-year-old broke through the youth academy at the Seagulls. The Spain international currently has two years left on his deal at the East Sussex side.
Raya is another Spaniard Tottenham are interested in. The 27-year-old will be a free agent in the summer of 2024 and has turned down two offers from the Bees to extend his stay.

It is evident that Lloris is in the final years of his career. The Frenchman’s performances this season have not instilled much confidence either. Therefore, will any of the four shot-stoppers make their way to Spurs in the coming months? Only time will tell.
