Andy Cole advises Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham over Manchester United
Speaking to Best Sports Betting Canada as quoted by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United legend Andy Cole advises Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham Hotspur over a move to the Red Devils.
Cole believes that Kane could find it difficult to break Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals if he moves to United and may be better off staying put in North London as the style of play would be difficult to adapt to.
Kane has been in sensational form this season, scoring 20 goals in all competitions, and his performances have caught the attention of United. With the Reds looking to add a new striker to their squad ahead of next season, Kane is among their targets.
Harry Kane has now scored 20+ goals in each of the last nine seasons for Tottenham:

However, Cole believes that the England captain may struggle to adapt to United’s style of play and could find it harder to score goals in Manchester. Speaking to Best Sports Betting Canada, Cole said,
“Harry Kane has a very good chance to break Alan Shearer’s record if he keeps playing the way he is. Tottenham are channelling all the goals through him, it was like when I played at Newcastle, the team was made for me. It’s a testament to him if he thinks he can break the record.”
Cole went on to suggest that Kane may find it challenging to adjust to United’s way of playing, which relies on goals coming from a variety of sources
“Manchester United play in a different way to Tottenham. When I was there, I had to change the way I played for Manchester United, not the other way around. If Kane goes to Manchester United, it will be different for him because there are goals that come from the wide areas, you have to think of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho getting their goals too”
For Kane, the decision to stay at Tottenham or move to United is a difficult one. On the one hand, he has the chance to become a legend at the club he has been part of for many years now, leading them to success on the domestic and the European stage.
On the other hand, he may feel that his chances of winning silverware are greater at United, who are a more established and successful club. However, Cole’s advice to Kane to stay put in N17 will make Tottenham fans happy.
While United may offer him the chance to win trophies, Kane’s priority should be to break Shearer’s record and cement his place in Premier League history. At Tottenham, he has the opportunity to do just that, with the team built around him and his goalscoring exploits.
Furthermore, with Tottenham having appointed Antonio Conte should he stay on, Kane may feel that there is a new sense of purpose and direction at the club. Under Conte’s guidance, the team has shown signs of improvement.
