Fabrizio Romano gives Julian Brandt update amid Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal interest
Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have been recently linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt, as per BILD (h/t Metro).
He could leave as a free agent in the summer of 2024 and it is believed that Dortmund have placed a 25million Euros price tag on him. Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the situation.
Writing in his exclusive CaughtOffside column, the journo said:
“Julian Brandt has always been tracked by Arsenal. I’m not aware of fresh contacts at this stage, nothing new; also because Borussia Dortmund have still not decided on Brandt’s future. New attacking signings will depend on many factors, nothing is decided on summer plan yet.”
This means that Spurs would have to be wary of Arsenal’s long-standing interest in the player. Brandt, 26, has been at BVB since the summer of 2019 when he arrived from Bayer Leverkusen.
BVB yet to decide
He has since played as a No. 10 for them and has also been deployed down the flanks if and when needed. Brandt is an attacking midfielder capable of creating chances at will for the attackers.
His nimble feet and eye for a killer pass make him an asset for most teams. Spurs, in particular, could use someone of his profile considering we lack a true No. 10 in this team.
Hopefully, Dortmund are open to parting ways with the player this summer. If it is evident that the Germany international doesn’t want to renew his deal, then Dortmund should understand that this summer could be their best chance to cash in on him properly.

Mahmoud Dahoud is another important midfielder that could be headed out the exit doors at Westfalenstadion this summer, with Napoli interested in him. Hopefully, his potential exit doesn’t play a part in BVB wanting to retain its other seemingly exit-bound midfielders, especially Brandt.
