Juventus and Inter Milan are plotting a move for Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte
According to the Sun, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is reportedly being sought after by two of Italy’s biggest football clubs, Juventus and Inter Milan.
The 53-year-old has had a successful managerial career, winning numerous league titles in Italy and England. Conte’s recent health issues, which required gallbladder surgery, has apparently strengthened his desire to return to Italy.
The Times reports that both Juventus and Inter Milan are keen to acquire his services, which could lead to an early exit from Tottenham if they are eliminated from the Champions League. His future at the end of the season is not certain either.
Conte’s contract with Tottenham runs until this season, but it is not the first time he has mulled over leaving the club for pastures new. However, it is understood that he might see out the current deal if he is not given the sack.
Should Conte return to Italy, he would be heading back to a familiar environment. He won five Serie A titles with Juventus as a player and then went on to win three consecutive league titles with them as manager. He then moved to Chelsea, where he won the Premier League title in his first season in charge.
Conte’s success continued when he moved back to Italy to manage Inter Milan, leading them to their first Serie A title in over a decade. He resigned from his position as Inter Milan manager in May 2021, citing financial constraints imposed by the club’s owners.
Both Juventus and Inter Milan are currently experiencing a period of transition. Both clubs are facing financial difficulties, which have led to the departure of key players and the possibility of a mass exodus this summer.
Conte’s tactical prowess and motivational skills have been praised by players and fans alike. He has a reputation for being a disciplinarian and for instilling a winning mentality in his teams. His arrival at either Juventus or Inter Milan would be a statement of intent by the club’s owners.
