Harry Kane urged to forget rivalries and swap Tottenham Hotspur for Chelsea
Former France international Florent Malouda has urged Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane to forget rivalries and join Chelsea.
The England international is 29 and without a trophy in his senior career. His contract expires at the end of next season and he has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Amidst this, Malouda has urged Spurs star Harry Kane to swap N17 for SW6. The former Chelsea winger told DAZN Bet (h/t Football.London):
“Kane would be a great signing, but I’d be surprised if he left Tottenham for Chelsea because of the rivalry.
“It’s not like leaving Tottenham for Arsenal, but to leave Tottenham for Chelsea, I’d be surprised but anything is possible. He’s a great option for any club in the Premier League, and for Chelsea he’d be a great pick.”
Spurs are going to end this season without a trophy. We are out of all cup competitions. A loss against Sheffield United in the FA Cup was shortly followed by elimination from the UEFA Champions League against AC Milan.
It wouldn’t be a shock if Kane decides to leave us for trophies. He would have personal ambitions and looking back at his career, he could have regrets if he stays at Spurs and ends up winning nothing.
On the contrary, he would know that winning a trophy with us would mean so much more than joining a European supergiant who virtually guarantees a trophy every season. This is a decision he has to make and hopefully, his love affair with Spurs fans continues.
He is our biggest hope to end the trophy drought. One can raise question marks against him regarding his performances in big knockout games where Spurs end up getting eliminated.
But he is perhaps safe from that criticism. He has done so, so much for us that on days he doesn’t fire on all cylinders, he needs his teammates to help him out. If we don’t have world-class players around him, it is the club’s job to do that and make Kane believe he is at the right club.

It’s not to say Chelsea will guarantee trophies but the way they are investing under Todd Boehly, surely players would take note and want to be part of their project.
