Tottenham Hotspur face competition from Real Madrid for Mauricio Pochettino

According to The Independent via The Express (h/t Football London), Tottenham Hotspur’s potential pursuit of Mauricio Pochettino could be dealt a blow with Real Madrid also entering the mix for his signature.

Antonio Conte’s future at the club is as uncertain as the probability of our next result and there are chances it could go either way.

Many within the club feel that the Italian has not fully entrusted himself with the club and has shown no signs of wanting to stay longer than his current contract, which expires at the end of the current season.

This was particularly evident in the aftermath of the UEFA Champions League loss to AC Milan in the round of 16 where Conte seemed rather disinterested in leading the club to good fortunes.

Therefore, there were talks of the club already looking for the Italian’s replacement and Pochettino, who was with the club previously, was one such name which has constantly made the rounds.

Pochettino is out of a managerial job after losing his position at Paris St. Germain and many believe that he would like to return to his former club and set things right. ,

However, now it seems like the Spurs are not the only club for the Argentine with Madrid also showing interest in Pochettino and seeing him as one of the potential candidates to replace Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti’s future at Madrid is in doubt just a year after winning the UEFA Champions League and La Liga and if Madrid is not able to secure any trophies this season, he might be on his way out.
