Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Brentford goalkeeper David Raya
According to TalkSport (h/t Caught Offside), Tottenham Hotspur are joined by Manchester United in their pursuit of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Raya has impressed many since Brentford have been in the Premier League for the past couple of seasons and therefore is generating interest from top clubs.
The player is also keen on a move to a top club, having rejected Brentford’s proposals for a contract extension with his current contract expiring in June 2024.
Hence, the summer transfer window provides clubs with an opportunity to test Brentford’s resilience in keeping hold of their prized asset.
Meanwhile, Spurs are in dire need of a good deputy to Hugo Lloris who has the capacity to take over in the coming seasons.
A big injury to Lloris has laid bare our deficiencies in the goalkeeping department with Fraser Forster just not up to it in terms of the quality needed for a Spurs goalkeeper.
Lloris is 36 years old while Forster is 34 years old and it is imperative that securing a new young goalkeeper is crucial for Daniel Levy and co. in the coming transfer window.

Raya certainly fits in the bracket and would actually improve the quality of the club with the abilities that he possesses.
Calm and composed in playing out from the back while being an avid shot-stopper, Raya could be the next big thing in the Premier League and would be a shrewd addition to the Spurs backline.
