Melissa Reddy claims Tottenham Hotspur can retain Harry Kane by showing ambition
Harry Kane has been the shining star of Tottenham Hotspur for quite some time now, and the Spurs faithful have enjoyed watching him grow into one of the best strikers in the world. But there is no denying that Kane has grown restless in recent years, and his desire to win trophies has led to endless speculation about his future.
Thankfully, Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy has offered a glimmer of hope to Tottenham fans who want to see Kane stay at the club for the long term. Reddy believes that the appointment of Thomas Tuchel could be the key to keeping Kane happy and committed to Spurs.
It’s no secret that Kane is hungry for success. He has broken records left and right, and he is widely considered one of the best strikers in the world. But at the end of the day, it’s trophies that players get judged by. And Tottenham’s lack of silverware in recent years has left Kane feeling unfulfilled.
But with Tuchel at the helm, Tottenham could finally be on the path to success. The German coach has a proven track record of winning trophies, having guided Paris Saint-Germain to the Champions League final in 2020 and then leading Chelsea to victory in the competition just a year later.
Tuchel’s success at Chelsea has been particularly impressive. When he took over the club midway through the season, the Blues were languishing in mid-table and looked unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.
Tuchel quickly turned things around, instilling a new sense of belief in the players and leading them to a top-four finish and a Champions League triumph. However, a change in ownership saw his end at the club.
Speaking about the situation, here is what Reddy had to say about what could make Kane stay at N17.
“If Mauricio Pochettino returns to the club – which is what a lot of players and staff at Spurs and the support base would like – he could convince Kane to extend. I’m also told that if they show ambition with a hire like Thomas Tuchel, he could be minded to stay as well. However, at 29, he doesn’t want to be the face of a rebuild or another project – he doesn’t have much time left to play.”
It’s not hard to see why Reddy believes that Tuchel could be the key to keeping Kane at Tottenham. The striker is desperate for success, and Tuchel has proven that he has what it takes to deliver it.
