Fabrizio Romano says Real Madrid are yet to open concrete talks for Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane
According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Tribuna), Real Madrid are yet to open concrete talks with Harry Kane despite interest in the Tottenham Hotspur superstar.
Kane has been linked with a move away from N17 for some time now. The Spanish giants are one of the latest clubs to be linked with a move for the talented English forward amidst uncertainty about his future.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in signing Kane but it is being claimed that Tottenham would prefer to sell their star player outside England, should they get to a stage where they have no choice but to sell him.
There is a feeling however that Kane might prefer to remain in England rather than move abroad. Tottenham will be hoping to convince him to stay at the club but it might not be that easy.
Glimmer of hope
Ideally, Kane might also want to stay at Tottenham and be a one-club man. However, the club’s utter lack of ambition and failure to remain competitive means that the Englishman could be seeking pastures new.
As good as Kane has been for Tottenham over the years, he is yet to win a single trophy with the club. The striker is now in the prime years of his career and it could be a ‘now or never’ decision for the Englishman.
At his age, being the face of the umpteenth rebuild at Tottenham is not going to be an exciting prospect for Kane. He’d rather prefer to move to a functioning project that would help him win trophies very soon.
However, Tottenham fans could take hope from one thing. With Antonio Conte expected to leave imminently, if the club can convince a top draw manager to replace the Italian, he could try and convince the Englishman.

Of course, it is not a guarantee that Kane wants to leave. However, unless he pens a new deal with the club, these rumours will not die down. Let’s see how it goes.
