Napoli want to find new solution for Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele
According to Calcio Napoli 24, Napoli want to find a new solution to sign Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele upon the conclusion of his loan spell in Serie A.
The Italian clubs have a clause in his deal worth around €28 million to make his loan signing permanent but it seems like Napoli would rather try and negotiate a lower fee with Tottenham to take him permanently.
Whilst Ndombele has not necessarily set the stage alight in Italy, he has seen his prominence grow in recent weeks and even scored his first-ever Serie A goal for Luciano Spaletti’s side over the weekend.
The league leaders look set on taking Ndombele permanently but the amount that Tottenham are asking for seems to be something that the Italian club are not willing to pay. Napoli will hope that the club sells him for much lesser.
Take him off our hands?
At this point, it seems like Tottenham will not mind negotiating a lower fee for Ndombele as long as he is taken off our hands for good. Whilst there is no questioning his ability, it is safe to say that things haven’t worked out at N17.
However, that does not mean that they’d agree to any amount that Napoli says. The Frenchman is definitely expected to attract more interest than he did last summer and we could find other buyers as well.
There is a minute chance that Ndombele might have a future at the club. If a new manager comes in at N17, he might choose to count on the Frenchman. In that case, Tottenham might choose to retain him.
Regardless of what happens with Napoli and Ndombele, the 26-year-old seems to have revived his career somewhat in Italy. He will be hoping to continue impressing until the end of the season.
