Eric Dier says Son is not the reason Conte left Tottenham Hotspur.

Barcelona eyeing Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min

Spanish giants Barcelona have an eye on Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min and ‘like’ the South Korea international’s profile, according to Catalunya Radio via Sport.

The Blaugrana are looking to bolster the left-hand side of their attack. To that end, they have Spurs’ 30-year-old forward on their list. The La Liga outfit also admire Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

Xavi’s team are working on bringing in a world-class player capable of providing a threat from the left wing. Even though the Camp Nou side are going through some financial issues, they have not ruled out anything for the upcoming transfer window.

At the moment, Barcelona have an abundance of talent in the attack. They signed Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha last summer. The Blaugrana also have the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati in their ranks.

However, in recent weeks, Xavi has preferred playing Gavi on the left in a hybrid role. Raphnha, Dembele, Fati and Torres have been underwhelming when played on the left-hand side of the attack this season.

Son signed for Tottenham in the summer of 2015. Over the years, the South Korean has developed into one of the best forwards in the English top flight.

In the previous campaign, the 30-year-old shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Salah. Unfortunately, the forward’s form has drastically dipped this term.

Apart from Harry Kane, none of our attacking options have contributed considerably in the final third. Son has made 37 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists.

However, Tottenham should not consider selling the South Korean to Barcelona unless it is for top dollars. A player with the quality of the 30-year-old is not easy to find. Hopefully, the forward is able to get over his rough patch.
