Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur to battle Juventus for ‘new Haaland’ Rasmus Hojlund
Tottenham Hotspur have well and truly entered the race for the striker dubbed as the ‘new Erling Haaland’, Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund, as per Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb.it.
Apparently, Juventus want to sign him as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic – the Serbian hitman who could be headed for the exit doors soon. Spurs are in the same boat with Harry Kane.
Tottenham would earn around 100-115million Euros from Kane’s potential sale and could spend just a fraction of that on signing the 20-year-old striker. The England international’s contract expires next year.
And Manchester United have been linked with a move for him. With each passing month, fans doubt Kane’s intention to stay at the club. If he wanted to stay here, he surely would have either signed the contract or said something to that effect.
What to do?
Haaland is a goal machine. He was scoring goals for fun for RB Salzburg in Austria, Borussia Dortmund in Germany, and is now doing the same for Manchester City in England – showing that he is not a one-season wonder.
The 22-year-old has 42 goals in 37 games across competitions this season. You have to be a special striker to be dubbed the ‘new Haaland. Hojlund justifies that.
Apart from the similar-sounding surnames, both Haaland and Hojlund are potent finishers who have a sixth sense when it comes to getting into the right positions to score. The latter has scored seven times in 23 Serie A games and provided two assists this campaign.
The ideal situation would be to retain Kane, but that seems more and more unlikely as the season passes. The club is without a permanent manager and is itself facing a period of massive uncertainty.

If we want Hojlund to replace Kane, we have to be quick. Firstly, to beat off interest from Serie A giants Juventus, who seem very keen on signing him, and secondly, before he keeps scoring goals and raises his transfer valuation.
