Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur want AC Milan star Theo Hernandez
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by Fichajes, Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur want to sign AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez.
Theo Hernandez has been a sensation for AC Milan since joining the club. The French left-back has been a key player for the Rossoneri, and his performances have caught the attention of the trio.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Hernandez, whose market value is €60 million. Both clubs require a specialist left-back, and Hernandez certainly fits the bill.
Tottenham has struggled to find a reliable option at left-back with Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies failing to make the position their own. A player of Hernandez’s calibre could solve their problem.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have been underwhelmed by summer signing Marc Cucurella and are looking for a quality replacement. Ben Chilwell has been good for them but injuries have really reduced his influence.
Hernandez’s quality is not in doubt. He has been picked to be a part of the Serie A team of the year for the last three seasons, and his potential to develop into one of the best defenders in the Premier League is enormous.
Manchester City are best placed amongst the three teams from a competitive sense. The team under Pep Guardiola will love to have a left-back like Hernandez and they have the financial muscle to pull this off.
It remains to be seen whether AC Milan agree to let the player leave in the summer. If they do, the transfer race for Hernandez could be one of the most exciting of the summer transfer window.
